The Preston Football Club would like to thank each and every player who pulled on the Bullants jumper during the 2025 VFL season.

A total of 49 players wore the red and white this year, including 40 of the 43 players announced in the initial squad, combined with a number of additions as the year progressed. There were 28 new faces at Genis Steel Oval, including 16 VFL debutants.

Several longtime Bullants celebrated milestones this year, including Jean-Luc Velissaris (100 VFL games), captain Liam Mackie (50 club games) and Patrick Fairlie (50 VFL games). Forward John Jorgensen, in his second season at the Bullants, also played his 50th VFL game and reached 50 club goals.

There were a number of returns throughout the year as well, including Jaden Collins playing his first game since 2022 and Dane Whitnall returning to the side in the final round of the season.

On the coaching side, Rohan Welsh took charge for a second year alongside a dedicated team of assistant coaches. 'Woosha', who was was on crutches throughout the summer and hospitalised in March, gave an impassioned speech at the Laurie Hill Trophy awards night.

Neil Howard, President of the Preston Football Club, today said: "On behalf of the current Board of directors and our general manager Peter German, we would like to extend our warmest thanks to you all in what must surely be your hardest season in competition football."

"Your devotion and dedication in such trying times, coupled with resilience and your willingness to work with each other, Rohan [Welsh] and your assistant coaches, just emphasises what determination, loyalty and honestly each of you all have."

"While we will not be able to field a team next season, our Board of directors and our stream of revenue will continue unfettered so that we may either re-enter the VFL competition in 2027 or 2028."

"Personally speaking, I cannot be prouder of all of you, particularly the leadership team, and of course all our coaches led by Rohan."

As outlined earlier this week, the Preston Football Club is committed to supporting its players, coaches, staff and volunteers, and remains focused on clearing all debt including player contracts, coaches' payments and other administrative payments before the end of the calendar year.
