Bullants superstar Jean-Luc Velissaris is set to reach another milestone this weekend, playing his 100th career senior game in the VFL.

JL began his VFL journey at none other than the Ants' biggest rival, Coburg, where he played two senior games in 2017. He also made five appearances in the Development League, including recording a bag of six in one game against Sandringham.

Velissaris crossed Bell Street in 2018 to join the then-Northern Blues, making his club debut and kicking his first goal as the 23rd man in a 39-point victory over Frankston. He played 12 games that season and continued with the club in 2019, a season where he kicked a goal after the siren to defeat Port Melbourne.

When the club returned as the Northern Bullants in 2021, JL stayed at Cramer St and continued his strong form.

Since the 2021 season began, he's had more than 30 games of at least 30 possessions, including a personal-best 45 disposals against Carlton in 2024, along with more than 60 goals. Ants supporters won't forget his fourth-quarter goal in the 2023 Battle of Bell Street to ice the game, having already notched up 26 disposals and eight clearances in the match.

Recognised as for his performances on-field, JL is a two-time Laurie Hill Trophy winner (2023 and 2024) and was selected in the 2023 VFL team of the year.

JL's 100th caps off a season of significant personal milestones at the Bullants, with John Jorgensen playing his 50th VFL game, skipper Liam Mackie reaching his 50th in the red and white, and Patrick Fairlie playing both his 50th VFL game and 100th State League game.

You can watch the Bullants in action this Saturday at Genis Steel Oval against Werribee in our final game of the 2025 season, with the first bounce at 2:05pm.
